Terms of Service
Sebairo carries your conversations, sells your goods and runs your company. That is more than most apps do, so these Terms are longer than most — and worth the twenty minutes.
1. The agreement you are making
Sebairo is a “Digital Life OS” — one application that carries messaging, voice and video calls, a social feed, live video, a Marketplace where people sell to each other, hiring and job tools, workspaces that run companies, and the SBX Wallet. It is operated from the United Kingdom and is independent and founder-owned.
Creating an account, or using Sebairo at all, means you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the service — there is no version of this in which you use Sebairo without them applying.
Three other documents form part of this agreement and bind in the same way: the Acceptable Use Policy, the Commerce Terms and the Privacy Policy. Where one of them says something more specific than this document does, the specific one governs for its own subject.
The date under the title is the version marker. Every change to this document is listed on the changes page with its date, so you can see what moved and when rather than being told only that “these Terms were updated”.
2. Who may use Sebairo
- You must be at least 13
- Sebairo is not built for young children. Where the law of your country sets a higher minimum age for consenting to online services on your own, that higher age applies to you instead.
- Accurate information
- Register with a phone number or email address you actually control. Do not impersonate another person, business or institution — not in your profile, not on a business page, not in a Marketplace listing.
- Not if you have been removed
- If your account was suspended or terminated for a breach of these Terms, you may not open a replacement to get around it. A replacement account created for that purpose is itself a breach.
- Sanctions and export rules
- You may not use Sebairo if you are subject to sanctions that prohibit it, or in any way that breaks export-control law applying to you.
3. Your account
You are responsible for what happens under your account. Keep your password to yourself, keep the recovery phone number current, and treat a one-time code the way you would treat the key to your front door.
Nobody at Sebairo will ever ask you for your password, for a one-time code or for a card number — not in a chat, not in an email, not on a call. A message that does is not from Sebairo, whatever it looks like.
You can delete your account yourself, from Settings, without asking anyone. Deletion removes the account at the authentication layer and cascades your profile and profile-scoped data with it.
One known gap, stated rather than buried: files already uploaded to public storage buckets — an avatar, a post image — are not purged in the same instant as the account. Closing that gap is on the list, and until it is closed this document will say so.
4. Your content, and the licence you give
You keep ownership of everything you create on Sebairo: posts, comments, messages, photos, video, live streams and their replays, listings, job posts, notes, memories, workspace records and business pages. Sebairo does not acquire your copyright and does not claim it.
To show your content back to you and to the people you sent it to, the service needs permission to handle it. You therefore grant Sebairo a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, transmit and display your content, and to adapt it for technical purposes — transcoding a video, making a thumbnail, resizing an image, building a search index over your own notes.
- The licence is bounded by audience
- It permits only what is needed to run the service as you asked for it. A private post stays private; the licence is not a route to publishing something you kept to yourself.
- It ends when you delete
- Delete the content, or the account, and the licence ends with it. Two ordinary exceptions survive: copies other people already received and kept, and records Sebairo must retain to comply with the law.
- Calls are not recorded
- Voice and video calls are carried, not recorded. Where a live-stream host deliberately creates a replay, that replay is the host's content and this section applies to it like any other post.
- Feedback is different
- If you send a suggestion about the product itself, Sebairo may act on it without owing you anything for it. That is the only category of thing you send where the answer is not “it is yours”.
Sebairo does not sell your personal data, and does not hand it to anyone for advertising targeting. Advertisers buy reach; they do not buy you.
5. What Sebairo provides — and what it is not
Sebairo provides software and hosting. It is deliberately not several things people sometimes assume a super-app must be, and assuming wrongly is expensive, so here they are.
- Not a bank
- The SBX Wallet is a balance inside a product, not a deposit account. It earns no interest, is not protected by any deposit guarantee scheme, and is not a payment account you can use outside Sebairo.
- Not a party to your sales
- A Marketplace sale is a contract between a buyer and a seller. Sebairo runs the shop floor. The Commerce Terms set out what that means in detail — including the one place where Sebairo does hold the money today.
- Not your employer, and not theirs
- Job posts, applications, contracts and payroll records in a workspace belong to you and the other party. Sebairo is not a party to an employment relationship formed through it and takes no responsibility for one.
- Not an adviser
- Nothing in the app is legal, medical, tax or financial advice, however confidently it is phrased.
- Not end-to-end encrypted
- Traffic is encrypted in transit and storage is encrypted at rest, but messages are stored in a form the service can read. That is what makes moderation possible and what makes a lawful order enforceable. If you need end-to-end encryption for a particular conversation, use a tool built for it and do not assume Sebairo is one.
- Not guaranteed to be available
- Sebairo is offered without an uptime commitment. Features are added, changed and occasionally removed. Where a change would materially reduce something you already pay for, you get reasonable notice.
6. The SBX Wallet
One wallet holds two different balances, and the difference between them is legal rather than cosmetic.
- Credits
- Prepaid value you buy or your plan grants, priced at 1 SBX = £1. Spendable inside Sebairo, not withdrawable, interest-free, and non-refundable except where the law says otherwise or where a charge was Sebairo's error.
- Cash
- Money you earned on the platform. Withdrawable to your bank from 10 SBX upwards, and Sebairo charges no fee for the withdrawal itself.
- How a withdrawal actually runs
- The amount leaves your balance and is held the moment you request it, so it cannot be spent twice while in flight. The transfer is then executed by a person at Sebairo and marked paid. Automated payout rails need onboarding and regulatory work that is not finished, so it is done by hand rather than pretended.
- When a withdrawal can be delayed
- Withdrawals are subject to verification and anti-fraud checks and may be delayed or declined where there is reasonable suspicion of fraud or a breach of these Terms. Cancel a pending request and the hold returns to your wallet in the same transaction; a rejected request is refunded the same way, with a reason.
- Cards are never here
- Card details are entered on Stripe's own checkout page and stay with Stripe. Sebairo receives the outcome and a reference. Prices are decided server-side, so a tampered request cannot mint credit at an invented rate, and your wallet is credited only when Stripe's signed webhook confirms the payment.
SBX is not a currency and has no value outside Sebairo. It cannot be traded, moved to a third-party exchange, or presented as an investment. Anyone offering to buy your SBX off-platform is running a scam.
7. Subscriptions and billing
- Recurring until cancelled
- Paid plans bill through Stripe on a recurring basis until you cancel. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for; you keep the plan until then, drop back to Free afterwards, and your data stays where it is.
- Price and feature changes
- Plan pricing and contents can change with reasonable advance notice, and a change applies from your next billing period — never retroactively to a period you already paid for.
- Currency and tax
- Plans, SBX top-ups and withdrawals are in pounds sterling. Any tax that applies to you is shown by Stripe at checkout, before you confirm.
If something goes wrong with a charge — charged twice, charged after cancelling, a checkout that failed halfway — send the reference from your receipt to support@sebairo.com and it gets fixed. Statutory cancellation and refund rights, where you have them, are not limited by anything in this section.
8. Workspaces, business pages and other people's data
A workspace runs a company: projects, tasks, customers, inventory, invoices, staff records. That means it holds information about people who never agreed to these Terms, and that changes who is responsible for what.
- The workspace owner decides
- Whoever owns a workspace controls its data, its members and their permissions, and can remove a member's access at any time. Work created inside a workspace belongs to the workspace, not to the member who typed it.
- You are responsible for what you put in
- If you load customer records, employee details or anyone else's personal data into a workspace, you are the one who must have the right to hold it and who must meet the data-protection duties that come with it. Sebairo processes it on your instructions and does not vouch for your basis to collect it.
- Business pages are public by design
- A business page, a Marketplace listing and a job post exist to be found. Everything on one is public — that is the point of it — so keep personal details out of a shop front.
- Leaving a workspace
- Deleting your personal account does not delete a workspace you were a member of, or the company records inside it. Those belong to the workspace and survive your departure.
9. Advertising
Businesses can pay to reach people on Sebairo. Campaigns are funded from the advertiser's wallet and charged as impressions and clicks are delivered; a campaign pauses rather than overdrawing the wallet behind it.
An advertiser is responsible for the content, the claims and the legality of its ads, and ads are subject to the Acceptable Use Policy and to moderation exactly like any other content. Advertisers buy reach; they do not receive your personal data, and Sebairo does not sell it to them.
10. Moderation, suspension and appeal
Anyone can report a post, message, listing, stream or profile from where they see it. Reports go to a queue that staff review in a separate console — not in the app anyone can install — and the person reported is never told who reported them.
Reviewers can remove content, restrict features, and suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy. Every one of those actions is written to an audit log with a reason, because powerful actions that leave no trace are how small problems become scandals.
If you think an action against you was wrong, appeal. Write to support@sebairo.com with [Appeal] in the subject line, say what was removed or restricted and when, and say why you think the decision is mistaken. A human reads it and answers.
Sebairo is small and will not pretend otherwise. There is no guaranteed response time. Serious reports — threats, sexual content involving minors, fraud in progress — jump the queue, and everything else is read in turn.
11. Ending the agreement
You may stop using Sebairo whenever you like, and may delete your account permanently from Settings without asking permission.
Sebairo may suspend or terminate your access for a material or repeated breach of these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, where the law requires it, or if the service is discontinued — with reasonable notice where that is practicable. A suspension for suspected fraud can be immediate, because notice would defeat the point.
What survives the end of the agreement: any licence needed to keep lawful records, sums already owed in either direction, the liability limits, and the governing-law clause.
12. Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under the law of England and Wales — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, and liability for fraud. If you use Sebairo as a consumer, your statutory rights are not affected by anything here.
Subject to that, the service is provided as it is. Sebairo is not liable for content posted by users, for what happens between a buyer and a seller, for loss of profit, business or goodwill, or for losses that were not a reasonably foreseeable result of a breach by Sebairo.
Total liability to you in connection with the service is limited to the greater of the amounts you paid Sebairo in the twelve months before the claim arose, and £100.
13. Governing law and general terms
These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over disputes arising from them. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you also keep the mandatory protections and the courts of your country of residence.
These Terms are the whole agreement between you and Sebairo about the service. If a court finds one clause unenforceable, the rest stays in force. Sebairo not enforcing a right on one occasion is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer your rights under this agreement to someone else; Sebairo may transfer its rights to a successor of the business, and you keep the same terms if it does.
14. Changes to these Terms
These Terms change as the service does. A material change is announced in the app or by another reasonable means before it takes effect, and every change — material or not — is logged with its date on the changes page. Continuing to use Sebairo after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms; if you do not, delete your account before that date.
Questions about anything in this document go to support@sebairo.com. If you find a place where these Terms describe the platform inaccurately, say so and the wording is corrected — and the correction is itself logged.
