Cookie Policy
Most cookie policies are long because the site has a lot to declare. This one is short because Sebairo's websites set almost nothing, and the honest way to show that is to name every single one.
1. What this covers
This policy covers Sebairo's websites: the marketing site at sebairo.com, this Help Centre and legal centre at help.sebairo.com, and the checkout return pages. It does not cover the mobile app, which is not a browser and does not use cookies — see section 5.
A cookie is a small piece of text a website asks your browser to keep and send back on the next visit. Related technologies — local storage, session storage — work the same way for the purposes of this policy and are treated the same.
2. What Sebairo's websites set
- sb_lang — language preference
- Remembers the language you chose so the site displays in it next time. Set only when you actually use the language switch; without it, your browser's own Accept-Language decides. It holds one of two values, “en” or “ar”, and nothing else. It lasts one year and you can delete it at any time.
- Essential authentication cookies
- Set by the authentication provider on the surfaces where you actually sign in, to keep your session alive. Without these, sign-in does not work. The public marketing pages create no session at all and therefore set no authentication cookie.
That is the complete list. Neither is used to build a profile of you, and neither is shared with anyone.
3. What Sebairo's websites do not set
No advertising cookies. No cross-site tracking cookies. No third-party analytics cookie. No fingerprinting. No consent-management vendor collecting data of its own while it asks you about cookies.
This is why you are not shown a cookie banner: the two cookies above are either strictly necessary or a preference you set deliberately by clicking a language switch, and neither requires consent under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations. A banner asking permission for cookies that do not exist would be theatre.
4. Cookies set by someone else
Two things happen off Sebairo's own pages, and cookies there belong to the company running them, not to us:
- Stripe Checkout. Paying takes you to Stripe's own hosted page on Stripe's own domain. Stripe sets its own cookies there, for payment processing and fraud prevention, under its own policy.
- Embedded or linked content. If you follow a link from Sebairo to another site, that site's cookies are its own affair.
5. The mobile app is not a website
The Android app does not use cookies. It keeps your session as a token in the device's own secure storage, and it holds a push notification token so a notification reaches your device and not someone else's. Neither is a cookie, neither is readable by a website, and both are removed when you sign out or delete the app's data.
6. How to control cookies
Every browser lets you block all cookies, block third-party cookies only, clear cookies on close, or delete individual ones. Look for “Cookies” or “Site data” under your browser's privacy settings.
- Blocking essential cookies will prevent sign-in from working.
- Clearing the language cookie resets the site to your browser's language, and to English if it names neither English nor Arabic.
- Nothing else on Sebairo's websites breaks if you clear everything.
7. Changes
If Sebairo starts using additional cookies, this policy is updated first, the change is logged on the changes page, and where the law requires consent, consent is asked for before the cookie is set — not afterwards.
