Voice and video calls

Call someone from your conversation with them: tap the phone icon for a voice call or the camera icon for a video call. Calls run over Wi-Fi or mobile data. Sebairo charges nothing per minute; you only use your normal data.

Group calls work the same way. Starting a call in a group conversation invites everyone in it, and you can add more people while the call is running.

During a call you can mute your microphone, turn your camera on or off, switch between front and back cameras, and switch the audio between the earpiece and the speaker.

Who can call you

A setting decides who can call you: everyone, your contacts, people you've messaged, or nobody. The default is people you've messaged. Unanswered calls ring for a short time, then show as missed.

Ringing and tones

The Ring for incoming calls toggle controls whether incoming calls ring. In Settings you can pick your tones: the tone gallery has separate tones for calls and for messages, and you can choose your own audio file. The notifications article has the details.

Video calls use noticeably more data than voice calls, which matters on a limited data plan.

Fixing call problems

Who can message or call you

Chats & calls · Two settings control who can reach you: one decides who may start a new conversation with you, and one decides who may call you.

Notification settings

Account & profile · You can mute a single chat or control notifications for the whole app from Settings, including sounds, vibration, your message tone and your call ringtone.

Create a group

Chats & calls · Create a group from the Chats tab. Give it a name, add at least one other person, and it is ready.
