Who can message or call you

Updated: 2026-09-02

Two settings control who can reach you: one decides who may start a new conversation with you, and one decides who may call you.

Who can message you

Who can call you

With the default for calls, someone you have never chatted with can't ring you out of nowhere unless you widen the setting.

Message requests

With Everyone, a first message from someone outside your circle — not a contact, not someone you follow — arrives as a message request. It shows up in your chat list like any conversation, with Accept and Block right in the thread.

Until you accept, the sender can write you one text message — no photos or attachments — and can't call you. Accepting opens the conversation fully, and simply replying accepts it too. Block removes the request, and the person can't message you again.

The messaging setting governs starting a new conversation, not continuing an old one: conversations you already have keep working whatever you choose.

These settings don't cover groups — a member of a group can add you to it either way. For one particular person, blocking is the stronger tool: a blocked person can't message or call you at all.

How do I block someone?
Safety & reporting · Open the person's profile or your conversation with them and choose Block from the menu. It takes effect immediately, and the other person is not notified.
Voice and video calls
Chats & calls · Call someone from your conversation with them: tap the phone icon for a voice call or the camera icon for a video call. Calls run over Wi-Fi or mobile data — there are no per-minute charges from Sebairo, only your normal data usage.
What can I do with a message?
Chats & calls · Press and hold a message to see its actions. On any message you can reply, react, copy, forward, star, pin, save to notes, and report (other people's messages); on your own messages you can also edit and delete.
Who can see your profile
Account & profile · Any signed-in Sebairo user can view your profile. Visitors who are not signed in see only a limited public card on the web.
