How do I block someone?

Open the person's profile or your conversation with them and choose Block from the menu. It takes effect immediately, and the other person is not notified.

Open their profile, or your conversation with them.
Open the menu.
Choose Block.

What blocking does

Neither of you can message the other.
They can't call you.
You no longer see each other's feed posts.
Neither of you can comment on the other's content.
Neither of you sees the other's stories.
You no longer appear in each other's people search.
You can't add someone you've blocked to a group.

You can also block straight from a message request — the request disappears and the person can't message you again.

Your blocked list is in Settings → Blocked users. You can unblock someone there, or from their profile, at any time.

Blocking protects your own space; it does not alert our team. If what the person did breaks the rules, report them as well — reporting is what protects other people from the same behavior.
