Group admins and the group link

Admins manage the group. The person who created it is an admin, and an admin can make any other member an admin.

What admins can do

Rename the group and change its photo and description.
Remove members.
Promote members to admin, or demote them.

Any member can add people, not only admins. Blocked people are skipped when adding.

The group link

The share link identifies the group and helps you point an existing member to the right conversation. It does not let anyone join. A person who is not a member sees nothing when they open it, and the only way into a group is to be added by a member.

Any member can leave a group at any time. A removed member loses access to the conversation from that point on.

Chats & calls · Create a group from the Chats tab. Give it a name, add at least one other person, and it is ready.

Who can message or call you

Chats & calls · Two settings control who can reach you: one decides who may start a new conversation with you, and one decides who may call you.
